Wouldn’t it be awesome if all of us had an hour, each day, to do our makeup? Unfortunately, in the real world, if we’re not running late for class or work, we’re trying to run 90 million errands before noon. This means that unless it’s a super special occasion, a full face of makeup is really low on the priority list.
That’s not to say that there aren’t a few things that can be done in 10 minutes (give or take five). It’s all about knowing what works and more importantly, what you’re willing to put a little time and effort into.
Here are some very doable makeup tips for women on the go:
Put on some mascara
You can make your eyes look so much bigger and brighter by simply applying a coat of mascara to your lashes. Get the kind with a thick wand. Oh, also get the kind that is waterproof.
Apply some lip gloss
Chapped lips are the last thing that a woman needs to have. So, even if you’re not big on lipstick or you’re about to go work out, still put on a dab of lip gloss. A little sheen can go a long way.
All over gloss
Speaking of lip gloss, a makeup trend that is getting quite a bit of traction right now is gloss all over the face. One way to easily achieve this look on the eyes is by dabbing some Vaseline on the lids. (Yep, Vaseline.)
Create iridescent lips
Sultry. That’s one of the best words to describe the iridescent lip. Some lip gloss and a bit of gold (or silver) eyeshadow applied on top will provide this effect.
Create iridescent eyes too
And just how can you get an effortless iridescent eye? Easy. Sweep some silver shadow on the top of your eyelids, some gold on your brow line and a bit of gold underneath your eyelids.
Metallic lip color
If you like the impact that lipstick can make but there’s no time to do an ombre or popsicle-stained look, just use a metallic lip color. Copper is pretty popular right now.
Play with colorful eyeliner
Another way to make your eyes appear like you’ve gotten more hours of sleep than you may have actually had is to apply some eyeliner. Avoid black, though. Go with a color like blue or green instead.
Fill in your brows
Full brows are a popular trend. If yours are a bit sparse, just use a brow pencil to fill them in. A well-shaped brown can do wonders for any woman’s face.
Try rose blush
Do you wish that your face had more color to it? There’s a simple solution. Use a blush brush to apply some rose blush to your cheeks.
A bit of red lipstick
If you have a midday meeting and you want to look like you have more makeup on than you actually do, some red lipstick can make your mouth look full and prominent in a matter of moments.
Light blue eyeliner
One of our favorite shades of eyeliner is baby blue. The picture says it all, right?
Consider tinted moisturizer
One thing that busy business women everywhere swear by is tinted moisturizer. You can actually make your own by blending a hypoallergenic, fragrance-free moisturizer with a couple of drops of liquid foundation.
Make some sunscreen
An important part of staying beautiful is keeping your skin healthy. An effective way to do it is to always apply some sunscreen. You can buy some, of course. Or you can make your own. You can learn how to do so here.
Curl your lashes
Are your eyelashes not as straight or as long as you would like? There’s a relatively quick and simple remedy. Curl them. If you do that and then apply some mascara, they will look almost like you put on some falsies.
Concealer under the eyes
Any places where you might have dark areas or flaws, a little concealer can fix it. As easy as 1-2-3.
Cream blush (natural flush)
Traditionally, blush is used on the ample parts of your cheeks. But you can add some more color on your face by also applying it to your cheeks, chin and temples too.
A nude face
A nude face. It’s very popular right now. You can achieve it with the help of some nude eyeshadow and a nude shade of lipstick.
A dark lipstick
These days, you can’t go too dark when it comes to lip color. It’s another way to make your lips stand out in seconds.
Brush on a bit of bronzer
Have you ever wondered how some women are able to achieve a brilliant sun-kissed glow? In the summer, it might be due to the sun. But in the winter, a brush (or two) or bronzer probably did the job.
Coral lipstick
There’s one more lipstick shade that couldn’t go unmentioned. That’s because if you put it on, it will definitely not go unnoticed. Coral is light, fresh and pretty. Apply it before heading out the door!
