Jeans. Although there have been some published articles over the past couple of months that claim that they are on their way out when it comes to fashion, we can’t possibly see how. They are comfortable. They are compliment our figures. And really, what don’t jeans go with?

That’s why we decided to do an entire feature paying homage to jeans. So that the next time you pull some out of your closet, you’ll know just what to wear with them this winter season.

1. Dark brown leather jacket and matching anklet boots

We had to start with a look like this because it focuses on the importance of accessorizing. No one is going to be too moved by a pair of jeans and a white shirt. Oh, but if you add some brown accessories to it all? Yeah, you’re going to instantly become quite the fashion plate! One way to not overdo it on a color is to make sue that your jewelry has some other tones to it. For instance, if you’re gonna go with brown (like this), look for a bracelet and earrings that has other hues in it.

2. Red, grey and herringbone all over

Red is a popular Christmas color so we couldn’t leave it out of a winter fashion feature. But try and avoid pairing it up with green or gold. Grey is a great alternative. And herringbone is a really popular pattern right now. It’s classic too.

3. Black turtleneck with black and grey accessories

Raise your hand if you have at least one black turtleneck in your closet that your grandmother gave you one year. Don’t let it collect dust. With some straight leg jeans, some calf boots and a plaid tote (plaid is in right now, y’all), you can bring that turtleneck to live. Black and grey are a personal favorite color combination. That’s why we’re showcasing it here.

4. Grey sweater with teal scarf and purse

Grey may seem bleak when it comes to the weather, but that certainly doesn’t have to be the case when it comes to fashion! It’s all about choosing a hue that blends with it but also brightens things up. With a pair of jeans, you simply can’t miss if you add some grey and teal into the mix!

5. Striped sweater, sleeveless tank and anklet boots

A striped sweater that has a lot of colors to it sometimes comes off as looking a bit “busy”. It doesn’t have to, though, if your accessories are solid. Oh, and in this case, it’s always a good idea to avoid having your accessories match. By having them in different colors of the sweater, it can draw attention to hues that people may have noticed otherwise.

6. Navy blue long sleeve and brown boots (and purse)

Who said that your jeans had to be blue or even black? We certainly didn’t! There are a lot of stores that sell jeans in a variety of colors and the brighter, the better! Especially if you plan on wearing a lot of white, black of even grey this year.

8. Silver sequin tank and navy blue blazer

YES! Something else that’s fantastic about jeans is you can dress ’em up or down. Here’s a dressy way to make them work. Go with a sequin top and then add a navy blue blaze to it. Make sure that all of your accessories are silver (silver is a classic Christmas color and a sophisticated way to add plenty of “bling”) and go with some navy or even grey pumps.

9. Pink, blue and brown clothing and accessories

Never thought to do brown and blue? How about now? We like it all the more if there is some pink that is added to the mix whether it’s in the outfit itself or even the accessories. And don’t be afraid to blend different hues of all of these colors. They will go well together…either way.

10. Plaid top and white quilted vest

OK, so guess what else is in this season? Quilted vests. Customarily, they look like something hikers or fishermen would wear to us. But, we actually like the look quite a bit when it’s put together with a plaid top and then some feminine accessories (peep the pearl earrings).

11. “Ugly Christmas sweater” and knit cap

If you’re anything like us, you’ve been trying to figure out what the heck to do with the ugly Christmas sweater that your grandmother gave you. Here’s an idea. Pull out your black skinny jeans, some furry boots and a knit cap. If you put this all together, you’ll actually look like you wore your sweater…on purpose.

12. Teal and taupe combo

And what about the cardigan that grandma got you too? We’ll be the first to admit that sometimes cardigans look a bit, shall we say it, “old”?!? But it’s all in how you wear them. With a tank top, fitted jeans and adorable flats, you’ll be just fine. And if you the color combination is something like teal and taupe, you’ll be even…finer.

13. Dark grey long sleeve top and knit calf boots

So, you’re home for the holidays and you plan on doing nothing all day other than sit on the couch, eat homemade food and watch movies. Still, you never know who might unexpectedly pop by (hmm…an old boyfriend, perhaps?!?) so still put on something cute. Perhaps a dark grey top and some knit boots that are the same color. (Please make sure the jeans fit in such a way that your bottom half looks sexy. Just sayin’)

14. Taupe sweater with brown purse and boots

And what if your ex asks you on a date? Here’s one way to look like you’re gorgeous “…but I didn’t put a ton of effort in it because I don’t have to.” Note: When you’re wearing a sweater like this one, putting a tank on underneath will keep you from getting too hot. Second note: If the sweater is taupe like this one, pair it up with brown. Just make sure that it’s different variations of brown. Like this outfit did.

15. Striped sweater and light pink infinity scarf and Converse

Pale pink is a fun color to wear during winter. It’s also one that’s so soft that you can have a ball being “matchy matchy” with it. Our recommendation is to either wear jeans that are really dark blue or light. For some reason, they are a better contrast than traditional denim.

16. Pale pink jeans, pale grey long sleeve top and golden scarf

Until we showed you, you probably would’ve never thought that pale pink and grey would work with (what?!?) BROWN. But it does. Far better than it ever would with black. In fact, pretty much all pastels look pretty amazing with brown accessories.

17. All black (complete with leather jacket)

ALL BLACK is trending right now. So we knew we couldn’t talk about how to wear jeans without talking about how to wear all black with your black fitted jeans. The key to making this look work is to be absolutely certain that none of the black that you have on is faded. It’s the difference between gorgeous and well, tacky.

18. Plaid shirt, cardigan and brown accessories

21 Different Fun Ways to Wear Your Jeans (This Winter)

The fascinating thing about plaid (a pattern that is pretty popular these days) is the more warn the shirt is, the better it tends to look. But if it feels a bit too thin for winter, just put a cardigan (or V-neck sweater) on over it. Then have a ball accessorizing it by pulling out colors in the plaid in your jewelry and scarf. Oh, and try going with brown for the belt and shoes. See how that works. We’re pretty sure you’ll love it.

19. Raglan shirt and low top Converse

Raglan shirts are easy. They’re best with skinny jeans (just as a heads up). You can finish off the look with a pair of low top Converse, a knit cap and an infinity scarf; one that coordinates rather than matches.

20. Light grey top with black “everything else”

If you’re what you would consider to be a “Ralph Lauren girl”, then you’re probably already instantly in love with this outfit. And who could blame you? Black, grey and white are such modern and sophisticated colors. And the best thing is that if you don’t have a “Ralph Lauren budget”, you can look like you do. Especially with the help of silver jewelry and black leather boots.

21. Thermal top, taupe shirt and brown boots

Question: How many thermal tops do you have laying around? Have you ever thought about layering them? With a pair of your jeans, they’ll look so great with a solid or plaid long or short sleeve shirt and some of your old boots. (The older, the better!)

22. Purple jeans, T-shirt and blazer

Here’s another short out to colored jeans. Dark purple is trending and it looks awesome with brown (as it brown boots). And if it’s too cold to wear a graphic T-shirt alone, no problem! That’s what blazers are for!

23. Ripped jeans, sweatshirt and high tops

It’s fun to look like a tom boy sometimes. A sweatshirt and a pair of high tops will pull that off. You still appear feminine, though. All you need are a pair of ripped up jeans—ones that fit you to a “T”.
